Free LTC class with Basic Pistol
The first 10 students who pay for NRA Basic Pistol get the Texas License to Carry class free, at any scheduled LTC class. The LTC class is free; you cover your own ammunition and range fees, and if you need a gun, you can borrow one of ours. Learn to shoot first, then get your license: that's the order we recommend.

Zero to shooting in one day
The class runs in three parts: classroom instruction, mat time training with rubber guns, and then live fire at the range. Students who meet the shooting qualification and test requirements receive a certificate of completion.
This is not the same as our free beginners class
The free beginners class is 30 minutes. It covers how to physically operate a firearm using dummy ammunition and the most basic handling knowledge — enough to know whether you want to go further. NRA Basic Pistol is the full eight-hour course that actually teaches you to shoot.

Basic Pistol is the first rung. Take the License to Carry class after it and the law class will make sense.
You do not need to own a gun
We rent firearms for the range portion, and the range fee is included in the rental.
