What the NRA course covers
The knowledge, skills and attitude for avoiding dangerous confrontations, and for the safe, effective and responsible use of a concealed pistol for self-defense outside the home. Note the order: avoiding the fight comes before winning it.
Two levels, and we teach both
Level one is nine hours and covers what you must master to carry, store and use a firearm safely outside the home, with several hours on the range. Level two is a further five hours of advanced shooting. Together that is the fourteen hours we run.
You need Personal Protection Inside the Home first
The NRA requires the defensive pistol skills taught in Personal Protection Inside the Home, plus an understanding of the legal concepts around using a firearm in self-defense. There is no shortcut into this course.
